Nations League volleyball, Italy beats Turkey and wins the final

The blues beat the hosts with a clear 3-0 and tomorrow they play against Brazil. It is the fourth final for Italy that has never won this event

Turkey-Italy 0-3 (18-25, 26-28, 22-25)

And it is the Nations League final for Italy that in the Ankara palace crammed with eleven thousand Turkish fans inflicts a heavy defeat on the home team coached by Giovanni Guidetti and tomorrow at 17.30 challenges the Brazil of Zé Roberto for a victory that in this event ( even when it was called Grand Prix) it never came. And curiously, on the other occasions in which Italy stopped in second place in front there were always the green-golds (who yesterday beat Serbia 3-1 in a comeback).

Blue domain

Turkey with Ozbay-Karakurt, Eda Erdem-Gunes in the center, Baladin-Sahin of band, Akoz free. Italy with Orro-Egonu, Chirichella-Danesi, Pietrini-Bosetti, De Gennaro free. First set without history for the blue who dominate in service immediately putting the Turkish game in crisis and are clearly superior in attack. Not only Egonu but Pietrini and Bosetti who do not let themselves be prayed for. Turkey looks for the predictable reaction in the second set by becoming more aggressive against the block (Gunes is seen completely evanescent in the first) and relies on the experience of Baladin and Eda Erdem. Pietrini responds incisively in attack but Italy drops a bit in pace and allows Turkey to stay in the game. A moment of black out is enough to allow a break that launches Turkey ahead of 4. The blue react with a wild Egonu that brings Italy back to 21. The point to point final rewards Italy that closes with Bosetti. A third set without history that sees Italy still dominate even with some errors while Turkey pays the fruitless effort of the second set and never manages to put pressure on Orro and companions who go to close without problems with an ace from Egonu
