NNA – On the occasion of Christmas, the “Lebanese Forces” party held a recital in Maarab entitled “Lebanon struck a thousand times, it tries to be reborn a thousand times – Pope John Paul II”, organized by the Party Activities Committee and performed by the band Levanos led by Nisreen Al Hosni, in Party leader Samir Geagea and his wife, MP Strida, were present, in addition to members of the “Republic strong” bloc, general secretary Emile Moukarzel, assistant secretaries and members of the Central Council.
After the recital, which included classic Gregorian chants and hymns, Geagea delivered a speech in which he said, “If God is with us, who is against us? This is our faith and this is the pillar of our steadfastness. How every year, we meet to experience joy despite sadness, hope despite pain, love despite hate and truth despite denial, we meet to experience resistance with spirit, heart and action, despite injustice , domination and submission attempts.
He added: “It is no coincidence that we and all those who believe in the Lebanon of the homeland, the Lebanon of freedom, dignity, pride, vigor and collaboration, will remain in this land celebrating, rather we insist on celebrating Christmas , because every holiday passes us by, because we assure those who try to submit to us that so many empires and great powers have tried it before.” They were small and they didn’t succeed, and this time too they won’t be able to, because we are children of hope, and we are all Lebanese in the face of injustice, and therefore “our salvation is but one, and our bread is one” .
He continued: “It is no accident that we meet each year on this blessed occasion to reassure all who are afraid, saying: Do not be afraid, for we are together until the end of time, and we address those of little faith to say : we are here, staying and rooted, stay with us because in the end “it’s too much time”. “Only the right thing is right.”
He said: “In the Christmas season, a time of joy and hope, our journey continues without interruption, and with constant renewal, leading to the resurrection, the resurrection of Lebanon. Today we live in a big and bitter confrontation between the Lebanon we know and want and the Lebanon we don’t know and don’t want. It takes faith and a long breath” and “Ana Yahn”.
He added: “Our strength lies in our faith and our right to live as we see fit, and not as someone else sees fit for us. Lebanon today is like Bethlehem at Christmas time: a small crib with a small child, poor, cold, homeless and persecuted by Herod, with the only difference that we are a whole people.” and he prayed, but he faced death and finally triumphed.
And he continued: «We will not lose hope, despite the large number of Herodians and Pharisees. We hold on to hope until the end of black projects and the end of evil. We are also firm in our principles and in our faith in God, man and Lebanon, because this is our homeland and “nobody takes it from us”.
And he added: “No terror or intimidation prevents us from living happily, nor a massive explosion that sowed death and destruction that made us leave Beirut, an icon of truth, and Lebanon, a bastion of dignity and freedom. prevent us from betting on truth and justice”.
He said, “Evil is present and will continue to try to dominate, but we are ever on the alert. The power of the just trumps the right of force.” It destroys as we build, it scatters and we gather, for we are steadfast as violent be the storms. What we learned more than two thousand years ago, and that we will remain, because “if the Lord is with us, who is against us?” Lebanon, which has been struck a thousand times, is trying a thousand times to born again.
And he turned to the Lebanese, saying: “On behalf of my wife, Strida, and on my own, I wish you all a thousand good things and blessings.”
