The US ambassador played country for the 4th of July, the celebration is a farewell for her – her term is up. Kiril Petkov missed, the PP decides on the mandate
US Ambassador Hero Mustafa played country music at the US Mission on the occasion of the US national holiday – 4th of July. This year the traditional reception was given on the last day of June.
GERB leader Boyko Borisov and former president Rosen Plevneliev were among the guests. Three of the current ruling vice-prime ministers in resignation accepted the reception – Daniel Laurer and his fellow party member from “We continue the change” Kalina Konstantinova, as well as the resigned already with the departure of ITN construction minister and also deputy prime minister of the cabinet in resignation Grozdan Karadjov.
However, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov was not seen at the embassy. At the same time, as is known, the national leadership of “We continue the change” is meeting on the topic of whether Petkov or another member of the PP should take the mandate from the president tomorrow. According to information from “24 Chasa”, “Promyanata” is divided into two – behind Petkov and behind Nikola Minchev, and the pressure from the partners is for the resigned prime minister to step down in favor of the deposed head of the parliament.
The Minister of Defense Dragomir Zakov, Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov and Minister of Justice Nadezhda Yordanova were also among the guests.
Solomon Passi and his wife Gergana also celebrated with Hero Mustafa.
The reception was attended by the current head of BNT and again a candidate for the post, Emil Koshlukov, and Venelin Petkov, who is his competitor for general director of public television.
“Long live Bulgaria, long live the USA!”, the ambassador Hero Mustafa was emotional. She shared that Independence Day is especially important to her because it reflects the values of her nation and the people who are looking for a better life.
“Bulgaria and the USA are friends, allies and partners. My 3-year term ends at the end of this year, and I want to thank everyone for their contribution to this partnership and the healthy ties between our countries,” stated Hero Mustafa.
