National News Agency – Commander of the Baalbek Police Brigade presented with a delegation from the Union of Municipalities to Organize Commercial Markets

NNA – Baalbek – The commander of the Baalbek Gendarmerie Brigade, Lt. Col. Joseph Hajjar, received in his office, in the presence of the commander of the Baalbek platoon, Major Hisham Sheheitly, a delegation that included the President of the Union of Baalbek Municipalities Shafiq Shehadeh, a member of the Baalbek Municipal Council and Municipal Police Officer Captain Mohamed Taha, President of the Baalbek Traders Association Nasri Othman Mohamed Hassan Kanaan, head of the Syndicate of Shop Owners and Commercial Establishments in the Bekaa, Amer Hajj Hassan, President of the Bid Association of Trade Unions in Lebanon, and the Liaison and Coordination Officer with the Security Forces, Tariq Al-Dika, in the presence of the Baalbek faction commander Major Hisham Sheheitly.

The delegation presented the traffic crisis in Baalbek, especially in the city center, the chaos of parking on both sides of the roads, the non-compliance of traffic signals, and the public van drivers bypassing the Baalbek Municipal Council’s decision to prevent vans from entering the inner city streets to reduce congestion.

Al-Hajjar gave instructions to the commander of the traffic detachment to cooperate with the municipal police of Baalbek and the merchants association, in terms of preventing traffic violations and strictness in the issue of entering public buses into the city, and strengthening the elements of traffic with cyclists, especially at times of congestion, in addition to removing all obstacles in front of shops to facilitate traffic within the markets The campaign will start from tomorrow, Saturday.
