In the age of Industry 4.0 and digitization, the importance of technically and scientifically well-trained people is greater than ever. In order to meet the increasing demand, among other things, educational measures to strengthen the relevant school subjects are essential.
As part of the project-related contributions (PgB) 2017-2020, various universities of applied sciences and universities of teacher education in Switzerland are implementing a four-year program entitled “Establishing a national network to promote MINT education – cross-university training and further education for teachers” (in short: MINT network Formation).
target
The aim of the program is to contribute to the promotion of MINT education in general and to remedy the shortage of skilled workers in the MINT area in particular by bundling the know-how and cooperation between technical universities of applied sciences and educational universities in the training and further education of teachers . In the medium term, this is intended to increase the interest and enjoyment of children and young people in MINT topics via the teachers, especially among girls and young women.
Subject areas
The “MINT Education Network” program consists of over 20 projects in five different subject areas.
