NATIONAL EDUCATION – The unions FSU, CGT Educ’action, FO and SUD-Education, as well as the organization of parents of FCPE pupils, with the high school student movements FIDL, MNL and La Voix lycéenne call for a new day of mobilization

Eight National Education unions have decided to launch a new strike call for Thursday, January 20 in schools, colleges and high schools. They denounce the “chaos caused by the management of the health crisis”.

Let’s continue the mobilization next week! All in action on January 20 and preparing for a massive strike on January 27

Thursday, January 13 was a strike day of exceptional magnitude. The announcements made by the Prime Minister and the Minister of National Education are not enough. However, they have shown that the strike by staff and all the players in the educational community has a strong impact, and that we can obtain satisfaction on our claims.

The situation is untenable in National Education. The chaos generated by the management of the health crisis deserves strong responses, beyond the commitments made by the Prime Minister and the Minister of National Education. We must immediately postpone the March specialty tests and organize them later on the basis of the programs planned for the tests in March, cancel the mid-CP evaluations, create all the positions necessary to ensure replacements, beyond recourse to the additional lists in the first degree announced, and provide schools and establishments with protective equipment in sufficient numbers, well beyond the volumes announced and including for students. Staff, students and parents need stability to work and study in a serene and secure environment.

Beyond that, the school urgently needs investment. A collective budget is needed to allow massive recruitment and reduce the number of students in classes. We must increase the salaries of staff, beyond the announcements of the Grenelle de l’Éducation, as part of the thaw of the index point and index increases. . We must respond to the demands of AED and AESH, on the front line in the face of the health crisis and its catastrophic management

The anger of staff, parents and high school students has not subsided! It’s time to continue the mobilization! To obtain satisfaction on the demands, our organizations call on staff, parents and high school students:

– to list the needs in schools, establishments and services and to meet to discuss the consequences of the January 13 strike.
– to continue and amplify the mobilizations initiated and decided by the staff in the coming days (for example on January 18 and 19),
– to engage in a new day of action on January 20, including by the strike

This week of mobilization should lead to a massive strike on January 27 as part of the interprofessional appeal, alongside private sector employees and other public officials, who are also facing austerity measures from the government and employers.
