Nasi Padang Babi is Annoying, Certification of Cuisine Needs to be Study

The Governor of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Mahyeldi Ansharullah proposed that Minangkabau cuisine be certified as excited tail Padang pork rice. Member of the House of Representatives for the West Sumatra II electoral district, Guspardi Gaus, asked all parties to be involved in discussing the certification.

“Of course it is necessary to carry out an in-depth study for all stakeholders who have an interest, especially of course the Minangkabau community, West Sumatra,” said Guspardi to reporters, Saturday (11/6/2022).

According to him, the Minangkabau community needs to be involved because culinary issues involve culture. In addition, according to him, many parties must be involved because of the problem Padang pork rice disturbing society.

“This is related to culture, so it is necessary to conduct an in-depth discussion of the issue about Babiambo. Because this issue is very disturbing to the community,” he said.

Guspardi said it was necessary to discuss the mechanism for granting the certification. He asked all customary institutions to the government to be involved in this certification plan.

“What institution is more suitable to do it, so don’t claim that this must determine whether the local government, whether the LKAAM is a customary density institution or there is an association of Minang restaurants, so a more comprehensive and more structured study, so that there is no single element Minang people who feel they are not involved,” he said.

Ask for Minang Culture to be Appreciated

Guspardi hopes that people will understand Minangkabau culture which is identical to Islamic law. He emphasized that all Minangkabau food is guaranteed to be halal.

“Although there are also certain supporting parties, generally not people from West Sumatra, you have read that, so he must understand, he must animate the culture of Minang, because the name Minang cuisine is definitely halal,” he said.

The PAN politician has no problem with dishes that use pork. However, he asked that dishes with non-halal raw materials should not be associated with Minangkabau cuisine.

“Please respect our culture, there is no need for intervention, and we don’t prevent anyone from opening a restaurant, but don’t bring Minang frills, please,” he said.
