Party NasDem not inviting President Jokowi in the opening of the National Working Meeting which will be held in a few days. This is the reason NasDem did not invite President Jokowi to the opening of the National Working Meeting.
“Only internal, everything is internal,” said Secretary General of NasDem Johnny G Plate at NasDem Tower, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday (13/6/2022). Johnny answered the question whether President Jokowi was not invited to the opening of the NasDem National Working Meeting.
“Internal, everything is internal,” he added.
Johnny explained that the NasDem National Working Meeting was not a public forum like the National Conference or Congress. In the National Working Meeting, he said, there will be an internal political recruitment agenda.
“This is internal, this is not a national conference, a general congress. This is a meeting related to the internal agenda, internal political recruitment, so it is very internal,” said Johnny.
Johnny said that NasDem basically respects President Jokowi. Moreover, Jokowi is currently busy.
The Minister of Communication and Information is also sure that President Jokowi understands NasDem’s attitude. After all, said Johnny, NasDem always invites Jokowi to attend party activities, such as the congress and the inauguration of the NasDem Tower which was held some time ago.
“We respect it. Even the president, even with his busy schedule, is currently busy, we respect that. We support the president,” he said.
“This is an internal agenda and the President understands it very well, yes. So many activities and NasDem agendas, the President is always present. Even congresses, building inauguration, Mr. President is present. But this (Rakernas) is an internal agenda, so we really focus on internal,” said Johnny added.
As is known, the NasDem National Work Meeting will be held on June 15-17. The 2022 NasDem National Working Meeting is entitled ‘Restoration: Strengthening National Politics’.
During the National Working Meeting, NasDem will discuss the names of 4 presidential candidates who will be submitted by NasDem General Chair Surya Paloh. Surya Paloh who will later decide the name of the presidential candidate that will be carried by NasDem.
“Results output From the National Working Meeting, between three and four presidential candidates may be produced, it will be submitted to the general chairman to later choose a candidate who will be discussed with prospective coalition partners in order to form a presidential coalition,” said Secretary General of NasDem Johnny G Plate told reporters at the Parliament Complex. , Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/6).
