A NASA released a study pointing to the discovery of some locations on the Moon that could be used as shelters by astronauts during expeditions to explore Earth’s natural satellite.
How does the Globothese places have the form of wells whose temperatures “they are always around a comfortable 17ºC”. Bearing in mind that some areas of the Moon can reach 127ºC during the day and -173ºC at night, it is clear that these wells could be of great use in the future. These locations were identified by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) space probe.
“Moon wells are a fascinating feature of the Moon’s surface”said one of the LRO project scientists, Noah Petro. “Knowing that they create a stable thermal environment helps us paint a picture of these unique lunar features and the prospect of exploring them one day.”.
