PRIANGAN ZONE – Is there any Rainbow from Mars? NASA decided to answer this question in the latest episode of the ‘Ask The Expert’ series. Shared on their official Instagram account @nasa, the video features planetary scientists from the US space agency and experts Mars Mark Lemmon.
The answer is no. But some other conditions in Mars similar to Earth. Lemmon explained that the formation of Rainbow need more than just water. Rainbows are formed when sunlight passes through round droplets, bounces off the back and comes into the human eye, usually after rain.
Lemmon said so Rainbow formed, water droplets are needed because they are spherical in shape. In Mars, there is not enough water droplets. Scientists say small droplets available in Mars 20 times smaller than a human hair and 10 times smaller than the droplets found in Earth’s clouds.

The droplet must be at least 10 times as large to create Rainbow, said Lemmon, adding that although snow can be found in the clouds Mars, there is no point in shaping Rainbow.
So, what does the Perseverance rover see in the sky Mars dusty in early April? After much speculation on social media, NASA rejected the idea, saying that the bow was lens flare.

NASA also said that there is not enough water in Mars to condense and it is too cold for liquid water in the atmosphere to take the form of spherical water droplets.
Lemmon also references this incident in the video. Even though there’s no Rainbow from Mars, there are many Earth-like phenomena on the red planet, including clouds, storms and winds.***
