NASA Collaborates with Boeing and Rolls-Royce to Reintroduce Supersonic Passenger Planes

Washington: NASA to reintroduce supersonic passenger planes. Experiments in this regard to success. The target is a passenger plane with a speed of 2470 kmph to 4900 kmph. (The distance from New Delhi to Moscow is 4,344 km. This distance can be covered in one hour). NASA aims to double the speed of FA-18 fighter jets.

NASA’s research is in collaboration with Boeing and Rolls-Royce. Supersonic Concorde planes were once used. They were shelved due to cost and noise pollution. NASA has made the X59 supersonic aircraft a reality with zero noise pollution. Further research is inspired by this.

The first test flight of the X-59 is scheduled for later this year. The record for the world’s fastest passenger plane is still held by the French and British-built Concorde. On February 7, 1996, Concorde completed the New York – London journey in just 2 hours 52 minutes 59 seconds.

The distance between these cities is 5,585 km. The maximum speed of Concorde is 2179 kmph. The Concorde service was discontinued in 2003.
