NASA announces disaster in 2030s

“Disturbing Seller” Such natural events, called the tide, occur when the tide, which is currently seen in coastal areas, rises half a meter above the average height.

These floods inundate streets and homes, affecting daily life.

The IndependentAccording to the report, on 21 June Nature Climate Change The research, published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal , showed that these floods will become more frequent and irregular by the mid-2030s.

High tides across much of the US coastline will increase by a factor of three to four over at least 10 years, according to the study.

It also became clear that these floods would not occur evenly throughout the year and would only intensify over a few months.

“Low areas near sea level are increasingly at risk from increased flooding, but the situation will worsen,” NASA administrator Bill Nelson said.

The combination of the Moon’s gravitational pull, rising sea levels, and climate change will continue to exacerbate coastal flooding in both the United States and the world.

Lead author of the study and assistant professor at the University of Hawaii Phil ThompsonHe also explained how the Moon affected floods on Earth.

According to Thompson, there is a rhythmic cycle lasting 18.6 years in the orbit of the Moon. During these cycles, the Moon wobbles in such a way that its position relative to Earth changes slightly.

The scientist states that these wobbles have always happened, but the warming of the Earth due to climate change and the rising sea levels make this event more and more dangerous.

Halfway through this 18.6-year period, high tides are less common on Earth than usual. The frequency of low-level tides is increasing. In the other half, however, this effect is reversed and high-level tides increase.

We are currently experiencing the high tidal part of the cycle. The next part, where the tides will intensify, will begin in the mid-2030s.

According to Thompson and his team, these high tides will become devastating in the 2030s as sea levels rise globally.

Thompson, “We will also see an effect that accumulates over time” says and adds:

A parking lot that floods 10-15 times a month cannot continue to function underwater. People lose their jobs because they can’t go to work. The cesspools leak and become a public health problem.
