Nantes Métropole Habitat: Serving the Community with a Rich Heritage, 50,000 Tenants, and a Dedicated Team.

Nantes Métropole Habitat: acting for the inhabitants, serving the general interest

A unique heritage.

To meet the needs of residents and the development of the Nantes conurbation, Nantes Métropole Habitat has built up a significant portfolio of 25,000 housing units. For more than 110 years, the office has adapted its buildings to each era: first collective housing and sanitary comfort at the beginning of the last century; reconstruction and housing estates after the war; energy quality and architectural research today.

Nantes Métropole Habitat puts the same effort into maintaining the existing heritage as into building. In respect of architectural diversity, the renovations carried out concern both the exterior facades and the common areas, the interior of the dwellings or the structure of the buildings. Depending on the nature of these renovations, the tenants are kept in their accommodation or temporarily relocated during the work, in another building in the park.

A clientele of 50,000 tenants.

Nantes Métropole Habitat therefore houses 50,000 people and assigns more than 2,000 housing units per year on average through the housing allocation commission, which meets every week.

With 7 local agencies, a tenant relations telephone centre, a 24-hour on-call service and a panel of e-services, Nantes Métropole Habitat places the tenant at the center of its concerns.

Each agency has a complete team to support tenants in all stages and daily needs: inventory, maintenance and works, monitoring of rents and charges, administrative management, request for transfers, cleaning, collective life, maintenance of green spaces.

A team of more than 550 employees.

The staff of the office intervenes in all areas of housing: site monitoring, finance, legal expertise, gardeners, building caretakers, reception managers, customer service managers, operations managers, telephone reception platform, administrative staff, etc.

More than 50% of Nantes Habitat’s overall workforce, ie nearly 350 people, work directly in the service of tenants, in the field, in the maintenance of assets or in the file management service.
