The Andalusian club was ordered by the Arbitral Tribunal for Sport (CAS) to pay 3.7 million euros to Nancy (L2) in connection with the transfer of Clément Lenglet to Barcelona, the club said on Wednesday.

But “Sevilla FC had refused to pay Nancy the amount of the capital gain due to him, on the grounds that the player had not been the subject of a transfer but had been released by the mechanism of a clause discharge included in his contract in accordance with Spanish law “, continues the Nancy club.
But the CAS, like FIFA before him, “considered that Sevilla FC could not argue this release clause to be relieved of its payment obligation”, welcomes the ASNL, which specifies that the Spanish club has 45 days to pay. Nancy, 12th in Ligue 2, has a budget of around 15 million euros this season.
