Neukirchen b Hl Blood.The storks kept lingering on a disused chimney of the former children’s home. In 2020 there was an egg in the nest, but it was not hatched. The joy of stork carer Maria Fischer is all the greater that this year two boys are lively looking out of the eyrie. Neighbors talked about bringing food and eagerly rattling. The rattle of the storks is typical to greet each other and keep enemies away from the nest. This is confirmed by Markus Schmidberger from the LBV Center “Man and Nature”. He was there on Wednesday to ring the young storks with the support of the fire brigade, which extended their turntable ladder. However, only one of the young storks received the plastic ring with the inscription because the other one was still too small, says Schmidberger. With the ringing operation, the storks are given an identification number and they are reported to the Radolfzell ornithological station. Because the stork should not only have a number, you are looking for names and look forward to suggestions from the population. The first letter of the two names should begin with “A”.
