Mexico City. On Sunday night, a new shipment of packaged vaccines against Covid-19 from the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca with 1,221,300 doses arrived in the country, from Chicago, Illinois, United States, to Terminal 1 of the International Airport of the City of Mexico.
Flight 6R 501 of the AeroUnión airline landed with the vaccines between 10 and 11 at night in the customs area of the capital airport.
With this tenth shipment of AstraZeneca, a total of 13 million 514 thousand 900 doses of packaged vaccines from this pharmaceutical company have already reached the national territory.
To date, Mexico has received 45 million 742 thousand 805 doses of packaged vaccines from pharmaceutical companies: Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, as well as CanSino Biologics, in 77 shipments distributed over 91 flights .
Likewise, in the country, the Drugmex laboratory has packaged four million 545 thousand 310 doses of CanSino Biologics, which makes a total of 50 million 288 thousand 115 doses.
In his Twitter account, Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, said that “tonight we will exceed 50 million doses of vaccines in Mexico”, a phrase that I accompany with a video where he indicates that in the Ministry of Foreign Relations (SRE) “we face the challenge , set by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to bring vaccines for all Mexican people ”.
The video counts as of December 23 when the Mexican government received the first shipment with 3,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer-BioNTech, to date. “Today we reached 50 million doses and we will not stop until everyone can get vaccinated.”
