With the extension of the lockdown, the situation in Münster’s gastronomy is getting worse. Marc Brouwer (“Marktcafé”, “Floyd”) describes the current situation as “brutal”, Bernd Redeker (“Gorilla Bar”) fears that it could be tight for many restaurateurs. Even Marcus Geßler (“Enchilada”, “Besitos”, “Aposto”) is increasingly concerned with fear: “I don’t know today whether I can pay the bills tomorrow. I’ve never had a situation like this. ”
The restaurateurs are now heading for the fifth month with little or no income since the beginning of the Corona crisis. Sure, there is the out-of-home business – “but that only accounts for 15 to 20 percent of previous sales,” says Geßler, who is also the spokesman for the city center restaurateurs.
