JAKARTA – Since attacking various parts of the world in December 2019, corona virus or Covid-19 has done a lot of harm. Millions of victims, either dead or infected.

The World Health Organization (WHO) and CDC have assured the world community that there is no evidence to suggest that food is associated with Covid-19 transmission.

However, there is a recent study from a research group in China that states that the Covid-19 virus can survive for eight days at temperatures of 4 degrees Celsius in frozen food.

With this news, there has been increasing concern about this virus which can spread and transmit through food. But don’t worry, here are some Myths about Food during the Corona Virus pandemic as reported by Boldsky.

Myth 1: Not Consuming Ice Cream Can Keep You Safe from COVID-19
Fact: Wrong. So far there is no scientific evidence to suggest that consumption of frozen foods such as ice cream can spread the virus.

Myth 2: The COVID-19 Virus Can Be Transmitted From Chinese Food

Myth 3: Garlic Soup is an Antidote to Covid-19
Fact: Wrong. Although regular consumption of garlic can help boost immunity, it does not mean that consuming this soup can help protect your body from virus attacks.

Myth 4: Drinking Water Can Help Avoid COVID-19
Fact: Wrong. Drinking lots of water throughout the day is very good for overall health. However, that is not enough to prevent the presence of the Covid-19 virus infection.

Myth 5: You Can Get COVID-19 from Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Fact: Wrong. It is highly unlikely that you can catch Covid-19 from fresh produce. To date there is no evidence that this virus is transmitted through food, especially fruits or vegetables.
