A MYSTERY unfolds after an unidentified woman is found wrapped in a bloody duffel bag on a popular path by a dog walker.
The man’s two dogs led him to the discovery and helped investigators uncover a trail of fresh blood.
Cops arrived at the scene shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday after Glenn Van Nostrand called 911.
The duffel bag was spotted by Van Nostrand near Metropolitan Avenue and Forest Park Drive in Queens, New York.
He was walking his two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, who became irritable upon finding the bag.
Van Nostrand told the New York Post that he looked into the bag and saw what looked like a mannequin.
But then he saw blood.
Investigators said the bloodied body was still intact and undismembered.
As Van Nostrand was driving home to drop off his dogs, the two dogs made another discovery: a trail of fresh blood.
Shortly after, police identified another crime scene a few blocks away at a house on Juno Street.
Neighbors told ABC7 that a family of four lived in the house – a mother, father and two sons. They have been at home for about 10 years.
As the investigation continues, cops believe the woman may be the mother and may have been killed by a family member.
Investigators confirmed to ABC7 that one of the sons was being questioned.
No further details have been released regarding a possible suspect or motive.
Neighbors in the neighborhood are shaken by the discovery.
“My stomach hurts,” Mara Newman told the New York Post.
“I don’t feel safe. I will not walk here at night. I can’t believe there’s a…body dumped on the side of the road. »
