TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The World Health Organization or WHO is monitoring cases hepatitis weight which is still a mystery cause. It is called severe because in this case, patients who experience it can undergo liver transplantation and attack children.
Former Director of Infectious Diseases of WHO Southeast Asia, Tjandra Yoga Aditama, said cases of severe acute hepatitis that were of concern to WHO and other world bodies had now reached Singapore. “The patient is 10 months old and the results of the examination for hepatitis, both types of hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and hepatitis E, are all negative,” said Tjandra Yoga in a written statement, Sunday, May 1, 2022.

Even so, there is no scientific evidence or clear relationship between acute hepatitis and corona virus infection. On the other hand, according to Tjandra Yoga, there is an article entitled “SARS-CoV-2 vaccination can elicit a CD8 T-cell dominant hepatitis” in the Journal of Hepatology on April 21, 2022.
The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported that of the nine cases of Covid-19 in Alabama, all were positive for adenovirus or this mysterious severe acute hepatitis. Two children with the disease had to have a liver transplant.
Early symptoms of hepatitis, which has no known cause, according to Tjandra Yoga Aditama, including vomiting, diarrhea, and some have an upper respiratory tract infection or ARI. So what should be done in the face of the mysterious hepatitis threat? Here’s advice from Tjandra Yoga:
- Early detection if there is a suspected case. Provide access and availability of screening for adenovirus, as well as various other types of viruses.
- Start the initial alertness of health services, including hospitals. At least it is necessary to explain to health workers and various basic therapies.
- Health education to the general public.
