Lhe countdown is on! On February 1, the fifth edition of the “Mineral Tour” will begin. According to a study carried out by the University of Ghent, this challenge, which consists of putting alcohol on a break for a month, would appeal to no less than one in five adults in Belgium today. In addition, nine out of ten participants say they have felt the positive effects of this “Mineral Tour”.
“These effects are variable, but they claim, for example, to have recovered better sleep. The consumption of alcohol indeed alters our paradoxical sleep, the one that allows us to recover psychologically. After a month without alcohol, they sleep better, which also has a positive impact on their general state of health, ”explains Martin de Duve, director of the ASBL Univers santé and alcohol specialist.
