“My father and I have very different opinions on many things”

Asked how important her father’s opinion is to her, Jette says: “It’s important. I care about his constructive criticism, because you can always do better. And I’m not saying that I’m a know-it-all and that what I do is super amazing.

In a sense, this is also my complex – I, like my father, want to achieve great things.

I don’t know if it’s because he has achieved a lot, but I’ve always been motivated towards my career.”

She continues: “But I have found that my father and I have very different opinions on many things. I don’t even expect him to agree with everything or understand everything I create. Such different approaches and opposite dynamics: my mother always seems to lift me up, making me dream and afford, but my father strongly tries to drag me into reality. And he has never given me any advantages, I have not used my prominence and the power of my father’s name in my career.”

As is known, Hermanis is the father of seven children.

He has three children with his wife, actress and director of the New Riga Theater Kristini Kruzi-Hermani – Jázeps, Kajs Benjamins and Elza Mētra. Alvis and Kristine exchanged rings in October 2009.

Jette Loona, Jula Mia and Otto Rudens were born in a previous marriage with Estonian Merli Keeveri.

He also has a son Toms Hermanis from a previous relationship.
