Meeting with musicians from the Loire who share their summer favourite. Nicolas Boisnard, singer of the Laval group Archimède, surprises us by evoking his favorite track, the credits of the film Les Grandes vacances in the 1960s. The group, made up of brothers Nicolas and Frédéric Boisnard, is known for its collaborations with Johnny Hallyday, Aldebert and Bénabar, as well as for his timeless hits such as Au Diable Vauvert, Le Bonheur and L’Été Revient.
Nicolas then tells us about his best summer musical memory which dates back to their stay in Niger. For a week, they rehearsed with local musicians and gave a memorable concert in the Open Air Theater of the Center Culturel Franco-Nigerien Jean-Rouch. This moment of sharing cultures and friendship will remain etched in their memory.
Regarding the soundtrack for this summer, Nicolas mentions the credits of the film Les Grandes vacances, composed by Raymond Lefèvre. He describes this music as fresh and summery, a concentrate of 60s carelessness. He also recommends Cours de danse au Byblos, by the same composer, as a pick-me-up.
Nicolas then evokes childhood memories linked to the films of Louis de Funès, to which they were very attached. Driving under the sun while listening to Raymond Lefèvre is for them like a cinematographic Proust madeleine.
Regarding their news, Archimède is preparing the release of their new album entitled Frères for next October 5th. Two singles have already been released and a new title, with clip, will be unveiled in September. They will begin their tour in Nantes and will also perform in Laval. Then they will go on tour through France.
Regarding the holidays, Nicolas admits that they still work a little in July to prepare for the autumn concerts. In August, he hopes to be able to spend a few days in Saint-Gingolph, on the shores of Lake Geneva, a place he adores. However, he still hasn’t booked anything and is struggling to organize his vacation.
