I’m not from music, culture, entertainment, or the arts. But my freelance work is closely linked to the scene and especially in 2020 I noticed that there was a willingness to make a social contribution to the art and culture scene. However, I cannot get rid of the feeling that in the political arena, large corporations and well-known companies are more likely to be given a large financial contribution than to support artists, musicians and entertainers. In a sense, you can understand that. But if entire industries are hidden from the agenda, then we still have to be reminded of why these industries are important to us.
The event industry makes a major economic contribution
Perhaps to prove this clearly in figures. The event industry is one of the largest business sectors. In Germany you do it in a good year more than 130 billion (!) euros Sales. Various branches are linked in it. On the one hand there is the band, the event agency, the sound engineers, marketing & PR experts, gastronomy for large events, IT people, engineers, construction companies for mass events and hybrid events and virtual events also require a high level of expertise.
It’s not just a band and a few devices and a stage! All of this has to be well controlled and planned in logistical terms. After all, there are many technical experts on board. Politicians also benefit from the event industry when they bring their political issues to the masses in front of the camera. It is therefore incomprehensible when certain industries are banned from working while tens of thousands of football fans are roaring in the stadium.
Music, bars, clubs are related branches

Nonetheless, the music scene needs further financial support. So it is not yet done that the clubs and bars open and it continues as if the phases of lockdown were quickly forgotten again.
