Murderous student caught after five-day manhunt | Abroad

Peter Manfredonia was arrested on Wednesday evening after five days on the run in Hagerstown, a town in Maryland, United States. American media report this on the basis of a police report.

It was previously known that Manfredonia was moving in that direction from Pennsylvania in an Uber, Connecticut state police reported.

The 23-year-old student had been on the run since Friday after killing 62-year-old Ted DeMers and seriously injuring another older man, in Willington, Connecticut.

In addition, Manfredonia is suspected of murdering his school friend Nicholas Eisele. He is said to have killed 23-year-old Nicholas Eisele at his home on Sunday and then fled in a black Volkswagen Jetta. He kidnapped Eisele’s girlfriend.

Police found the Volkswagen in New Jersey near the Pennsylvania border later today. Eisele’s kidnapped girlfriend was found unharmed.

According to the police, the arrest of Manfredonia, born in Newtown, went without a hitch. Connecticut state police say they will release more information about the arrest on Thursday.
