The suspect arrested for a knife murder that occurred around 11 a.m. on avenue Colonel Picquart in Schaerbeek on Thursday was placed under an arrest warrant by the investigating judge, the Brussels prosecutor’s office said on Monday. The man will appear in the week before the council chamber.
The victim, a 61-year-old man, was injured with one or more stab wounds. She died Thursday at the end of the morning in the hospital following her injuries. The suspect placed under arrest warrant is in his forties. The federal police laboratory came down, as did the prosecution. The latter also appointed a medical examiner. Both the victim and the suspect are of Portuguese origin. Their dispute was over the subletting of an apartment, according to RTLInfo. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office cannot, however, confirm the motive for the murder at this stage of the investigation.
