Murcia City Council begins to install protective screens in municipal services | Radio Murcia

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the councilor for Urban Development and Administration Modernization, José Guillén, has supervised this Tuesday the protective screens installed in the Statistics service, the first in which these equipment are installed in the City Council of the capital.

This is one of the measures launched by the City Council to tackle de-escalation, with the aim of guaranteeing the safety of municipal workers and users.

“The Consistory is taking all the necessary measures to guarantee public health, with the aim that, when the time comes for the opening of municipal services that require attention to the citizen, the procedures and consultations between the public employee and users are perform safely and effectively, “said Ballesta.

Specifically, the Statistics citizen service unit has nine jobs, where the first protective partitions have been installed. During the next few weeks they will be enabled in municipal services that require attention to the public.

The installed partitions have a height of 1.80 meters, wrap around the worker’s table and have a slot that will allow the documentation to be delivered to the user or the official. Its design guarantees total isolation of the employee position, not only from the desk area, but from all the space around it, since the partitions start from the ground. The final height is designed so that the citizen’s mouth is never above the screen at any time.

It is foreseen that when phase 4 begins, the public will be attended directly, making use of the protective partitions and all the necessary measures to avoid crowds.

Before the state of alarm, more than 450 people passed through the facilities of this service every day
