Oath of loyalty to the Motherland and obedience to the Constitution and the Laws was given yesterday Wednesday, December 27, 2023 by the Mayor of Pogoni, Mr. Konstantinos Kapsalis, the members of the Municipal Council, the Presidents and the members of the Local Councils of the Municipal Units.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Indoor Gymnasium of Kalpaki in a pleasant atmosphere, full of optimism for the new term that begins on 1the January 2024.
The ceremony was performed by the Most Reverend Archimandrite Father Chrysostomos Traikapis who, after the ceremony, wished him a good and productive tenure.
The re-elected Mayor of Pogoni, Mr. Konstantinos Kapsalis, gave a brief account of the term that ends in a few days and underlined that a five-year period with many challenges and difficulties is ahead. At the same time, he welcomed old and new elected officials to the large family of the Municipality of Pogoni.
“The new term comes with many challenges. Reducing resources and giving more responsibilities are just some of the elements that make up our difficult task. I welcome all old and new elected officials to the large family of Pogoni Municipality and I am sure that there will be cooperation as our goal is common. The new mission assigned to us by the citizens calls us to act away from political and personal expediencies. In this difficult effort, no one is spared and we ask for everyone’s help so that our Municipality is even stronger, even more productive, even more humane. You, the citizens, are our real wealth” noted Mr. Kapsalis, while thanking the partners and the staff of the Municipality for the excellent cooperation.
The head of the faction “Pogoni Topos na zeis” Mr. Christos Gogos emphasized: “Our long self-governing course has taught us that all together with sympathy and cooperation we can achieve a lot that our Municipality needs. We will consent to all those decisions that will be in the right direction and we will oppose that which deviates from the right path towards development. Always with positions and proposals for a creative and productive opposition for the benefit of our Municipality. The basic goal of all of us must be respect, absolute respect for the Citizen and the Municipal property, which by extension is also the property of all of us”.
His commitment to fight for the interest of the country was reiterated by the leader of the “Popular Mobilization” faction, Mr. Dimitrios Rosilovalis, also emphasizing that there is a political and ideological gap with the Mayor’s faction and the opposition.
The ceremony ended with the signing of the swearing-in protocol and the new municipal authority takes office on 1the January 2024.
