In Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme), outgoing mayor PS Olivier Bianchi was re-elected in the second round of the municipal elections with 48.41% of the votes, ahead of the candidate LR Jean-Pierre Brenas (36.50%) and the LFI candidate Marianne Maximi (15.08%), according to the final results. The outgoing mayor Olivier Bianchi, who came first in the first round with 38.0 9% of the vote, led a union list PS-PCF-EELV-Générations, but faced competition from the LFI candidate, maintained in the second round. Facing him, candidate LR Jean-Pierre Brenas (20.74% in the first round) had merged his lists with candidate LaREM Eric Faidy (15.54%) in order to bring down this bastion of the left.
