Arezzo, 29 June 2020 – He was not on duty, he was away on vacation or for a permit. But he showed up at the office, apparently to say hello to his work colleagues. Instead he pulled out a knife and hit.
It is the drama experienced this morning in via Tagliamento, at the maintenance site. Victim of a 47-year-old surveyor, one of the service managers: hit cold, without even having time to understand why.
A blow, from what is filtering for now, sunk in the neck and that would have arrived a few millimeters from the aorta. Fortunately without cutting it.
Around other employees, rushed from the next rooms to realize what was happening.
The stabber is called Giovanni Paolucci, and after hitting he ran away, leaving the knife on the ground. The hunt started to find him: after about an hour and a half he made himself known by the carabinieri.
But even earlier the alarm had started at 118: the injured man is called Mario Mastrantone, he is in stable condition and was transported in red code to the Arezzo hospital. It is the same councilor for public works Gianfrancesco Gamurrini to confirm on his Facebook profile that the surveyor “is fine, is upset but not in danger”. And in fact he had always remained conscious, enough to exchange a few words with whoever was there
The municipal police intervened. At the moment, the reasons that triggered the blind violence are not known: old work issues, rust, simple madness?
