Munarman accused Densus 88 Anti-terror of misunderstanding the contents of his lecture on hisbah or Islamic law. He delivered the talk on January 25, 2015 in Makassar, which at that time also took place in the allegiance to ISIS.
In a follow-up trial at the East Jakarta District Court (PN Jaktim), Wednesday (16/2/2022), Munarman was examined as a defendant. Initially Munarman explained the reason for his presence in the activity.
“Yes, it’s important for me that FPI members are also present on the 25th, therefore I think there should be a more concrete explanation of various issues. Incidentally, the issue of Islamic law as a solution, so I’m talking about Islamic law in the context of criminal law only. country,” said Munarman.
Munarman said the application of Islamic law in the context of criminal law must be carried out by the state, not individually. This is what Munarman later called misunderstood by Densus 88 Anti-terror.
“So if you look closely, my sentence is actually like this, the application of Islamic law in the context of criminal law must be carried out by the state, meaning that it is not allowed for individuals to do it. That is the condition,” said Munarman.
“So this has been misunderstood by the Densus who is investigating me, who is investigating this case, as if my statement is absolutely the state must implement it, for me it is not a matter of legal politics. individuals carry out their obligations,” added Munarman.
In this matter, Munarman is accused of inciting others to commit acts of terrorism. In addition, prosecutors said Munarman had pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakar Al Baghdadi in 2014.
There was also, the prosecutor said, Munarman participated in various activities that contained allegiance. The venues are the Secretariat of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) of Makassar City – Regional Headquarters of the Laskar Defenders of Islam (LPI), Pondok Pesantren Tahfizhul Qur’an Sudiang, Makassar, and in the Pusbinsa hall of the North Sumatra State Islamic University campus. Munarman’s actions were carried out in 2015.
