Mumbai Police files FIR against Nayanthara’s film Annapoorni for promoting love jihad and insulting Hindu sentiments

Mumbai Police has filed an FIR against Nayanthara’s film Annapurani for promoting love jihad. The former Shiv Sena leader had lodged a police complaint against the makers of the film, alleging that it had hurt the sentiments of Hindus.

After that, an FIR was filed against Annapurani in Mumbai. The Shiv Sena leader also accused the makers of the film of insulting Lord Rama.

Media reported that the FIR mentions that the film promotes love jihad and that one of its characters misinterprets the Valmiki Ramayana and calls Lord Rama a ‘mamsahari’.

Annapoorni is Nayanthara’s 75th film. Directed by Nilesh Krishna, the film featured Nayanthara, Jai and Sathyaraj in lead roles. The film hit the theaters on December 1.
