TEXAS – Varios Texas counties crossed 15% of total hospital capacity due to pandemic and the authorities did not hesitate to implement restrictions to try to contain the spread of COVID-19.

One of the affected locations is 60 miles south of the city of Houston.

Starting Tuesday, Galveston County residents will have to adjust once to changes in the operational capacity of their restaurants and bars.

Faced with the dangerous increase in the number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19, it is reversed.

Authorities once again reduce the capacity to restaurants and it was also announced that the bars in each of the counties mentioned in the list will have to close again.

The Texas Department of Health announced the implementation of emerging protocols that include reducing restaurant capacity from 75% to 50%.

The measure affects counties in the southeast of the state that lie between Galveston and Beaumont. The measures for now do not affect Harris County where the city of Houston is located.

Galveston County is included in the Trauma Service Area (TSA) identified by state authorities as one in which an occupancy number greater than 15% of total hospital capacity has been recorded due to the pandemic.

For the restrictions to be lifted, at least seven consecutive days must pass in which that number is below 15%.

Other counties in the area affected by this state decision are Brazoria, Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, and Orange.
