Today (November 11th, 2023) an incident with consequences occurred during the Bundesliga match between FC Augsburg and TSG Hoffenheim. In the 57th minute of the game, a firecracker was set off in the area of ​​the visitors’ block of the WWK Arena. There was a loud bang that could be heard throughout the stadium. Several people were apparently injured by the explosion when the firecracker was ignited. The game was interrupted and the injured people were treated by the emergency services. So far the police are aware of eleven injured people. The police ask anyone who was also injured to call 0821/323-3810. Immediately after the incident, the police began an investigation. Two suspects were identified during the game. Both men are suspected of being involved in the crime. The two men were also arrested during the game and are currently in police custody.
