Elementary school boy from Palembang, South Sumatra (South Sumatra), named Muhammad Rizky Aditya (11) or familiarly called Iki, has to work hard to support his grandmother and three younger siblings. Iki became the backbone of the family after his father, M Ferdi (31), ran away two years ago.
Reported detikSumbagsel, Tuesday (6/2/2024), Iki has been selling chips around since his father ran away. Because the mother, Anita Sari, is sick and needs treatment. The mother died on January 24, 2024.
He sells chips around the area opposite Ulu II Palembang. He uses the income he earns for his family’s daily living, paying the rent, and even buying his mother’s medicine.
Even after his mother died, he continued to earn money, even busking to support his grandmother and three young siblings.
Until now, the routine of selling chips around is still carried out after school.
“Iki’s mother is no longer there (died), but his father has run away since Iki was in third grade. Iki usually starts selling from school at 12 noon until half past 10 at night,” said Iki last weekend.
Iki’s grandmother, Sa’adah, admitted that Iki’s father abandoned his four young children two years ago. He said that Iki’s father had a high temper, and he often committed domestic violence against Iki’s mother when she was still alive.
