Now elected by her peers for a two-year term, her role will be to represent the 31 lawyers of the bar. A dynamic bar which has seen, over the past year, the creation of two associations: “Avvif [Avocats défenseurs des victimes de violences intrafamiliales, NDLR] for the protection and defense of victims of domestic violence”, and “EMA [Enfant Montluçon avocat, NDLR] for the protection and support of minors”.

“Our bar is active and wishes to pay particular attention to these issues of violence”, maintains the president, who nevertheless draws attention to various difficulties at the level of the jurisdiction: in particular the lack of staff at the level of the court registry or even the absence of a children’s judge and a juvenile prosecutor’s office in Montluçon.
“We are also at a crossroads. There is a desire to have 21st century justice, but at what cost? She thus evokes “the laws and decrees going in the direction of all digital”, sometimes transforming the lawyer into a “digital assistant”. “In my opinion, we are losing what is a chance for us in Montluçon: local justice. »
The chairman has “a role of authority recognized by the texts”. He is the privileged interlocutor of the court and has a role of mediator “when there is a difficulty between colleagues” or, for example, “when a litigant has a problem with a colleague”. The President of the Bar is also responsible for applying the decisions of the Bar Council, and must ensure that the permanence (for example for police custody) is ensured. It is also up to him to appoint a lawyer ex officio during a hearing where a litigant requests one.
