In the hope of reversing several years of population decline, the Italian is now planning regions of Calibra to offer up to 33,000 dollars, ie almost 300,000 kroner, over a maximum of a three-year period to people who choose to move to some of the region’s most depopulated villages.

Some of the villages looking for new inhabitants are close to the sea. Others are located on the mountainside, and some have both mountains and coasts, according to CNN. These villages are now home to just under 2,000 people.
However, there are some obligations with the monetary gift. In order to receive the funds, new residents must agree to start a small business, either from scratch, or by taking up existing offers from specific professionals that the cities want.
Applicants must also settle in the village – and they can not be older than 40 years.
They must also be ready to move to Calabria within 90 days of being granted the application.
