Your fall in training on December 22 has serious consequences: «My spleen is still in my body, but it no longer works. Doctors had to occlude an artery to stop bleeding. The organ will remain in my body, but it has died, ”says Neff after her three-day stay in hospital and before returning to Switzerland next week.

To make matters worse for the woman from Eastern Switzerland, the artery occlusion has to keep her blood pressure as low as possible for three months. “If the artery ruptured, it would result in internal bleeding and another emergency operation.”

Jolanda Neff knows that she was lucky in misfortune. “I am so grateful for the care I received from my partner and his parents,” she says.
