Riding on its Power range, Motorola declines its Moto G8 Power in a Lite version. A model that still offers a large battery of 5,000 mAh but which makes concessions on the rest of its technical sheet.

Just because containment was made mandatory to protect against COVID-19 does not mean that brands have decided to abandon their product presentations. This is the case of Motorola, which has just formalized its new entry-level smartphone: the Moto G8 Power Lite.

A huge battery for less than 200 €
As its name suggests, this Moto G8 Power Lite is a lightened version of the Moto G8 Power. This Lite version swaps its Snapdragon processor for MediaTek, a Helio P35 more precisely. The chip is coupled to 4 GB of RAM as well as 64 GB of storage (expandable via SD card up to 256 GB). The battery is the only point where there has been no concession since it is exactly the same as in the G8 power. You will therefore have at your disposal a 5000 mAh accumulator: enough to last 3 days, according to Motorola.
On the front, the G8 Power Lite offers a 6.5-inch LCD panel in 20: 9 format, with a notch in the shape of a water drop. This accommodates an 8 megapixel sensor. This screen is 0.1 inch larger than that of the G8 Power, but only offers an HD + resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. In addition, a large black border is placed on the bottom of the smartphone.
On the back, the new model loses a sensor compared to the non-Lite version. So we end up with 3 sensors, the main one of which is 16 megapixels. It is accompanied by a macro module of 2 megapixels as well as another module used for the depth of field, of 2 megapixels too. It is therefore the telephoto lens that disappears here.
Launched at € 179, this Moto G8 Power Lite replaces the Moto Moto G7 Play from last year. The company therefore focuses its communication on smartphones that can offer a large autonomy, without this affecting the price. Available in presale on Amazon France, the smartphone should be available more widely in the second half of April. Only one color will be offered on our market: Royal Blue.
