A 21-year-old young man was sentenced on Thursday by the criminal court of Evry-Courcouronnes (Essonne) for theft. The facts had occurred in Orsay on January 16, at the end of the day, reports News Essonne.
In the RER, the defendant approached a 13-year-old minor, alone in a wagon. Blocking his way, he threatened him, claiming to have a knife on him, and demanded that the teenager hand over his iPhone 11 and the smartphone password.

A few moments later, the victim saw the face of his attacker appear on his cloud. The latter had found nothing better to do than take selfies and videos with the stolen phone, still connected to the storage platform of the teenager.
The images facilitated the arrest of the suspect, already arrested two weeks earlier for the theft of AirPods. He received a six-month suspended prison sentence and will have to pay 369.99 euros in material damage as well as 500 euros in moral damage to his victim.
