The A12 between Maarsbergen and Veenendaal-West has been closed due to the accident, the ANWB reports. The havoc was great. The closing lasted until at least 9 p.m. Traffic towards Arnhem was diverted. Two lanes were closed on the A12 in the other direction of travel.

A car also flipped over in the accident. The first report reached the emergency services at 5.15 pm.
