The Social Security of Health (Essalud) reported that the nine immunization clinics of Metropolitan Lima will attend at their usual time on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May, the date on which Mother’s Day is celebrated, for which it called on mothers over 50 years of age to be vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 because they can already apply the fourth dose.

The insured and uninsured should bring their national identity document (DNI) and vaccination card to be able to be inoculated with the corresponding dose, a process that is carried out under all biosecurity measures.

To date, the institution’s brigades have applied 9,794,102 doses of the vaccine against coronavirus to the insured and uninsured population at the national level.

Who can get vaccinated?

People over 50 years of age may apply the fourth dose

Starting today, Friday, May 6, at Essalud vaccination centers, the fourth dose against COVID-19 is also applied to insured and uninsured adults over 50 years of age at its 70 centers and 450 points set up for this purpose nationwide. .

On this occasion, all people in this age range who are 5 months after receiving the third dose will be vaccinated. According to the protocol established by the Ministry of Health, the dose will be 0.25 ml (50 micrograms).

Minors from 12 to 17 years old

Social Security stated that minors 12 to 17 years of age they will be able to receive their third dose of the vaccine, while the population aged 18 and over has the opportunity to start or complete their vaccination schedule.

Children from 5 to 11 years old

Likewise, children between the ages of 5 and 11 can go to the vaccination clinics to receive the first or second dose, as appropriate.
