Yulidza Rangel, a 37-year-old Venezuelan woman residing in the country, requested help from the First Lady of the Republic, Raquel Arbaje, as well as to the embassy of Venezuela, to bring his son Adalberto Armando Torres, 18 years old, from Maracaibo, to be operated on a head tumor.
During a visit to Diario Libre in the midst of tears, the immigrant -who works in the food delivery service- assured that on November 27, 2020, she received the news that her son was diagnosed with a tumor on the right side of the head. He said that the young man lives with his grandmother and without economic resources in the South American country.
He stated that only one MRI at the Madre María de San José Clinic, in Maracaibo, cost him 200 dollars, which he was able to send thanks to the generosity of some friends.
“I have looked for all the ways to have it operated there (Venezuela), but everything is difficult because nothing works there. I can’t find what to do. They detected the tumor on the right side of his head … I want him to be transferred here, ”he said between sobs.
He added that “the tumor is very large.” When questioned if he went to the embassy of his country, he expressed that “that was closed.”
Rangel believes that here his offspring can be intervened in a hospital and mentioned Darío Contreras.
He said that he works very hard and even had an accident on his day carrying orders such as delivery.
The young José David, who accompanied Yulidza to DL, said that in his native country the situation is very precarious and clinics and hospitals do not have supplies to care for patients.
