In 2023, the cars most often involved in accidents on Russian roads were Lada Granta, Priora and Hyundai Solaris, according to a study (available from Gazeta.Ru) from VSK Insurance House.

“Among the car brands, the most accident-prone ones in 2023 included: Lada (19% of the total number of accidents), Toyota (8%), Hyundai (7%), Kia (6%) and Renault (5%). Mercedes-Benz is the leader in the premium segment. The share of accidents involving cars of the German brand increased over the year from 1% to 1.5%,” the report says.
The leaders in the ranking of the most dangerous models were Lada Granta (4%), Hyundai Solaris (3%), Lada Priora (2%), Lada Kalina (1.6%) and Toyota Corolla (1.5%).
Moscow became the leading region in the number of road accidents at the end of 2023. The Krasnodar Territory, Novosibirsk and Rostov regions, and Bashkortostan were also included in the unique anti-rating. The most careful drivers live in the Omsk and Volgograd regions, as well as in St. Petersburg. The fewest accidents were recorded there.
According to the insurer, most often Russians aged 35-40 years were involved in road accidents. At the same time, in 2023, the share of young people among those responsible for accidents increased from 25 to 27%.
