Cases on the rise throughout Italy, 10 deaths in 24 hours. THE UPDATED DATA
There are 106 new cases of Covid-19 registered in Sicily in the last 24 hours. The total number of hospitalized people rises to 108 and the number of those requiring intensive care treatment to 18, with an increase of three hospitalizations leading to 8 cases followed only at the Cervello hospital in Palermo. In total, the current positives active on the island rise to 1,603, 1,477 of which under home isolation. 4,607 swabs were performed – a slightly lower number than yesterday – bringing the total to almost 390,000 since the beginning of the epidemic. The total number of victims of the epidemic remains at 289, while the total cases in the region since the beginning of the pandemic are 5032.
There is also an increase in infections in the rest of Italy: 1,597 cases have been registered in the last 24 hours (yesterday they were 1,434) for a total of 283,180. On the other hand, the figures of the Ministry of Health show a drop in victims, 10 in one day while yesterday they were 14. The overall total of deaths thus rises to 35,587. The number of swabs carried out also decreased: 94,186, just under two thousand less than yesterday.
The number of patients due to Covid 19, hospitalizations in intensive care and those in other hospital departments increases. From the data of the Minister of Health it emerges that there are currently 35,708 positive, 613 more than yesterday, 164 people hospitalized in intensive care (14 more) and 1,836 in other wards, 58 more than on Wednesday. The subjects in home isolation are also increasing: they were 32,806 yesterday, they are 33,708 today, with an increase of 902. Finally, the discharged and recovered are 211,885, 613 more in the last 24 hours.
The regions showing the greatest increases are Lombardy (+245 cases in 24 hours), Campania (+180), Lazio (+163), Veneto (+147), Emilia Romagna (+110) and Sicily (+106). Only one region has zero new cases, the Aosta Valley.
