More than 17 million condoms have been distributed in Senegal.

An important pillar of the prevention package, the promotion of the use of condoms is an important strategy for reducing new HIV infections in a context where most of the transmission takes place through the sexual route. In 2019, an estimated 17,469,571 condoms were distributed, according to the 2019 report of the National Council for the Fight against AIDS in Senegal. The number of condoms distributed free of charge through the Division for the Fight against AIDS and STIs (DLSI) represents a total of 9,052,551, or 52.4%. ADEMAS, through social marketing, distributed 4,080,844 with 23.3% and private pharmacies 4,241,279 or 24.3%.

The HIV Testing and Counseling services reported an insignificant number of people who had also benefited from tests during the previous year.

In 2019, 687,865 people benefited from HIV testing, of which 483,129 are pregnant women, i.e. 70.2%.
