More than 115,000 killed by the coronavirus in the USA; trigger contagion in Florida for third day | News, Univision Health

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, expressed concern for the people who attended mass protests across the countryby the death of the african-american George Floyd at the hands of the police.

Fauci said that while he understands why people feel obliged to attend to the protests, the spread of the contagious disease in large-scale events represents a real threat.

“You know, it is a danger for people who are trying to control the demonstration,” said Fauci Jonathan Karl, of ABC, on the podcast ‘Powerhouse Politics’. “And it is a danger to the people who are manifesting. Then, at the end of the day, it is a procedure risky.”

When asked if extending that advice to americans who want to attend one of the upcoming demonstrations of Trump, including the concentration expected for next week in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Fauci said yes.

“I am consistent. I stick to what I said”, he replied.

Fauci, a member of the working group on coronavirus of the White House, he reiterated the guidelines of the CDC to limit the spread of the covid-19 and added that the safest practice is to avoid “cramped quarters, to wear a mask every time you leave”. And if you can do both things, to prevent the congregation of people and to bring the mask, that’s cool.”
