More than 10,000 illegal migrants have arrived in Germany from Belarus this year

German federal police have identified 10,128 illegal migrants from Belarus since the start of the year, the federal police bureau said in Potsdam on Monday.

In the first three weeks of November, 2287 cases of illegal entry of migrants from Belarus were registered.

From January to July, a total of 26 illegal migrants entered Germany via Belarus, 474 in August, 1903 in September and 5,285 in October.

The epicenter remains the German-Polish border, which has seen “high migratory pressure” since August, the statement said.

Normalization of the situation “is currently not predicted”.

The German-Polish border is the internal border of the Schengen area. It can be crossed anywhere and anytime.

With the escalation of hybrid attacks on the European Union (EU) by Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko and the flow of illegal migrants, German federal police have stepped up controls in border areas.

In the past months, attempts have been made to send thousands of illegal immigrants from Belarus to Latvia, Lithuania and Poland as part of Lukashenko’s hybrid attack, most of whom have arrived in Belarus as tourists from Iraq.

The EU has accused the Minsk regime of seeking to avenge support for the Belarusian opposition and of sanctions against Belarus in response to last year’s violent crackdown on protests.
