More than 1000 corona patients in Dutch hospitals | Inland

This is stated in the most recent figures from the National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading (LCPS). A total of 1021 Covid patients now occupy a hospital bed. On Thursday there were 944.

The number of people with Covid-19 in hospitals has been increasing rapidly in recent days. A week ago, there were fewer than 700 corona patients in intensive care units and nursing units. At the beginning of October, the hospitals still treated just over 400 Covid patients. So in four weeks, on balance, about 600 were added.

Nursing units are currently treating 804 people with Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. That is 63 more than 24 hours ago. 149 new corona patients were admitted to the nursing wards. For the past four days, more than 100 new people with Covid-19 were added to the nursing wards every day.

The number of corona patients in intensive care units increased by 14 to 217. 26 new corona patients were admitted to an IC, but because people also died or were moved to a nursing ward, the total occupancy increased less rapidly.

In total, 175 new people with serious Covid complaints were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours. That is the highest number of new admissions in one day since May 19.

To spread the pressure on hospitals as much as possible, patients can be moved between regions. On Thursday, two corona patients were moved to another region.
