More than 10% fewer houses sold, price rise levels off | Money

47,382 homes were sold in those months, more than 10% less than in the same period a year earlier. The average home cost €429,000 in the second quarter. That was 18.4% more than a year earlier. In the first three months of the year, the price increase was still 20.3%. The price increase also leveled off within the second period, with prices in June being 16.7% higher than twelve months previously.

The Land Registry also expects a further dampening effect on both the number of transactions and house prices in the current quarter. The effect of the increased mortgage interest will then become visible in the figures, the organization said.

Flevoland

In Flevoland, the increase in house prices was the largest in the past quarter, namely 21.7%. This is partly because people from Amsterdam are on the market there. One in nine homes sold in Flevoland went to a buyer from our capital. The price increase in Zeeland was the lowest at 16% on an annual basis.

Starters paid an average of €356,000 for a home. They focused on the segment of homes up to €400,000.
